Virat Kohli arrived in New York on Friday, following a lengthy 16-hour flight to join the Indian team. However, there are uncertainties regarding his involvement in the upcoming warm-up match against Bangladesh on Saturday. Kohli opted out of India’s optional practice session and instead chose to rest after checking in at the hotel. According to a reliable source from the BCCI, Kohli’s priority is recuperation following the exhausting journey.

After enduring a 16-hour journey to reach New York, whether Virat Kohli joins the practice match against Bangladesh at the Nassau County Cricket Ground hinges on his physical condition and willingness to face the opposing team.

Kohli has accumulated 741 runs across 15 IPL matches, indicating his solid form. With his established skill set, he requires minimal match practice, although he will still benefit from three high-quality net sessions before the first match against Ireland on June 5th. On Friday morning, an optional training session was held, during which Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, and Mohammed Siraj dedicated themselves to intensive training under the supervision of the support staff.

Kohli arrived in New York on Friday evening according to Indian time and will soon be immersed in tournament preparations. Expressing surprise, he remarked in a video shared by the US Consulate Mumbai on X (previously known as Twitter) that he never anticipated playing cricket in the USA, but now it’s becoming a reality.
