On Monday, May 27, a United Airlines flight at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport experienced a delay in takeoff due to an engine fire. Video footage captured the moment, showing smoke billowing from one of the plane’s wings.

The engine of United Flight 2091 ignited in flames just before its scheduled departure to Seattle at approximately 2 pm. The event unfolded on the taxiway, leading to the evacuation of 148 passengers and five crew members, according to separate statements from the Federal Aviation Administration and United Airlines. A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, was recorded by a passenger from inside the aircraft, revealing smoke emerging from one of the wings as the plane moved along the tarmac. Ivan Paloalto, the passenger who filmed the footage, recounted hearing an explosion as the aircraft was preparing for takeoff.

United Airlines stated that there were no injuries following the incident, affirming that the engine issue was swiftly handled by emergency responders. The airline reassured that passengers disembarked from the aircraft without any complications. “We are actively arranging alternative travel options for our customers,” United Airlines conveyed, as reported by Fox News Digital.
